I founded Sugar Mouse in 2008 whilst studying for my
undergraduate degree in Psychology, Philosophy and Physiology at the University of Oxford. Having always been interested in crafty pursuits, and with a previous business sewing accessories, band artwork and merch behind me, I realized I could rarely find ethically sourced and independently crafted jewellery that catered to
my student budget...
After investing in a miniature drill, saw and files, Sugar Mouse has soared in popularity. I just use what I would wear as a standard
for all my creations, and it seems to have worked. I've been featured
in LOOK, NME and Sugar Magazine this year alone and completely
sold out of stock at Truck Festival in the summer.I make sure that I keep prices as low as I can (generally £10 or under), because supporting the indie craft scene doesn't need to be expensive!
After I've graduated, I hope to attend patisserie school so that,
one day, I might have a physical Sugar Mouse shop full of
indie crafts and cake. Yay!"
